I know how it feels
I know how it feels to have two people you love so much, go their separate ways. I know the feeling of seeing two love ones fight and argue. I know how it feels to live

Christian writes an essay.
in two different families, one is my mother’s and the other is my father’s. When my parents were finally divorce in June of 2005, I was devastated, yet relieved for know the fight were going to end between the two. At age 8, I needed to go through the toughest thing a young child can go through. I knew it was meant to be, but I just didn’t want to take it in. My parents told me it was going to be alright, but I knew it was, in the future.

Six months after my parents split, my father got married to his third wife and had a child which the two called Maia. My dad every now and then will call us to see how we were doing in school, sports, and in life. After a while of seeing us twice a week on Monday and Tuesday, he wanted to go to court to extend the days we stay with him, but my mother Perla was against it. At the end, my father got his wish and now we see him every other weekend and every Monday and Tuesday.

Even thou its tough living in two houses, there are many great ups to it. You get two birthdays, double the presents, money and many other things. I get to go on a vacation with my father’s family and also one with my mother’s family. Having two different houses to live on is tough but when you forget about the past, and look toward the future, then there are many great things.

Most Responsible
On February 12, 2008, Larry King was shot twice and killed by a fellow classmate Brandon. Larry King was like any other boy at E.O. Green, riding his bike, hanging out with girls, and etc., but different. Larry wore many inappropriate things for males to wear to school pretty much leading to his death. Larry is most responsible for his death due to his actions.

When Larry was dared to ask Brandon to be his valentine, Brandon was humiliated in front of all his friends. Larry was using his different sexually attractions for his own game and weapon. Brandon was asked to be Larry’s valentine and Brandon became upset. If Larry was serious about asking Brandon to be his valentine, then he would of ask his in secret, not where all of Brandon friends were. Which lead to the shooting of Larry King. Brandon is not the person to blame, he came from a horrible family not knowing really right from wrong, but he shouldn’t of use a gun to get revenge at Larry King.
external image 1285956732208.jpg

Many teachers at E.O. Green knew Larry was different from classmates and many were against how he dresses and wore women accessories to school and a few weren’t. Larry King wore make up, women accessories, and knee high pink heels to school. Larry went to the vice principal Epstein and will talk but she was not against how Larry showed his feelings because she was gay herself. She gave Larry her daughter’s dress and Larry told everyone, he was wearing it for graduation. The two had a bond because of their different attractions, which the vice principal shouldn’t of talked about with a student. She is not the person to blame for the death of Larry King, but she had a big part of it.

At age 10, Larry declared he was gay, in middle school at age 15, he was shot to death. Larry is most responsible for his death because of his clothes, how he wore it and his actions. He had a crush on Brandon, but went too far by asking him a sexually question. Larry liked seeing the reactions of boys trying to get away from him when he comments on how they look when changing. When Larry asked Brandon to be his valentine in front of his friends, triggering Brandon’s angry side which lead to Brandon grabbing a gun and shooting Larry. Larry is most responsible because how he used his different attractions to get at Brandon.

Brandon shouldn’t have shot Larry, no one should of. Larry didn’t care how he dressed or what he did; he just wanted attention from the classmates. Larry could have been going to high school if the teachers told him to take off things that got him attention. Brandon should have complained to a teacher or an adult, not going home, taking a gun to school, and shooting Larry thinking everything was going to be the same.

On February 12, 2008, Larry King was killed by Brandon Mclenery at E.O green. Larry was humiliated by Larry king who upset Brandon causing him to go home, get a gun from his home, bringing it to school, and killing Larry. In my honest opinion, I think Brandon should be in juvenile not adult court due to his undeveloped brain. larry-brandon.jpe
Brandon should not go to adult court for something he did when he was 14.

Brandon grew up in a family of addiction, alcoholic, and criminal. His parents weren’t there for Brandon due to their problems with drugs and alcohol. He was only 14 which brains aren’t at their fully developed stage in life. Brandon was furious when his friends were making fun of him, when Larry asked him to be his valentine. Brandon shouldn’t get charged for first degree murder for killing Larry at only 14, he should have a second chance at life to turn himself around.

I believe Brandon should go to prison for taking someone’s life away, but he should go to juvenile court, where he gets out at 25 because he was young, not thinking it through. When he is serving his time, he can be getting help from a therapist and when he gets out at 25, he will be a different person. He didn’t think of the consequences that will come after he kills Larry; he just thought grabbing his father’s gun and killing Larry. Larry’s parents probably won’t agree with only 8 years in prison, they will probably like him to be in prison for life so he can’t harm anyone like he harmed their son Larry. On my honest opinion, he should be in jail until 25, given therapy classes, and given a second chance at life. Brandon should only go to prison until he is 25 because he didn’t thinking about anything in the long run; he just thought it and did it.

Images vs Text
“One never understands anything from a photograph.” An opinion quote from Susan Sontag who strongly dislikes everything about photographs and prefers text is a more suitable way of explaining the feeling and the story about an event. On the other hand, I am in the middle of agreeing and disagreeing with her, because it is true a photo can’t talk to you, you can only assume what is happening, but it still reveals the reality of being there at that event. images.jpe

Susan Sontag is right that a photo can never be understood because the photo is just revealing a slice of reality. Text has everything you need, for example, what, where, and why this is happening is all examples that will be written in a text for an event. Text has more information about an event than an image shows, but an image is the only way that reveals and captures the reality of it. To people, a slice of reality is something that could improve someone’s knowledge about the same event. Text in some ways is better than images, but images can have a 1000 words said about it.

In September 2001, a horrible terrorist attack against the U.S. was a life changing nightmare. The mastermind behind 9-11, was Osama Bin Laden, which the USA didn’t stop looking for him until they hand him in their hands, dead or alive. This year, they killed him at his house and the nation was relieved. You can hear about it, but most people will say, they got to see it to believe it. You can just have the text and celebrate knowing the mastermind is dead, but the image of Osama Bin Laden is proof that for sure he is gone. Photos are important because it shows the truth, and evidence for many things.

The world wouldn’t be the same if images weren’t taken in the early 1900’s. Jacob Riis and Lewis Himes are pretty much considered important people because they changed how children and their family live. If they never took pictures of those houses where children were living in, probably now in days, we would be working all day, just like they did. The images of the children working was a big thing, the people in the city heard of it, but never really knew how they worked before they saw those pictures. Cameras saved all of those kids from continuing that horrible labor jobs, Jacob and Lewis are the people to thanks for it.

The world needs cameras to capture events, good or bad for the rest of the world to see it. An image increases our understanding and appreciation about things and places that we probably wouldn’t visit in a million of years. Images pretty much bring the world to you and that is something Susan Sontag can be wrong with.

Love
Chemicals are always in our life when we least expect them. Chemical are with you when you are at home, at school and with friends. Chemicals are going to be around for life if you like it or not. Chemicals are in everyone, so I agree that chemicals is in love, commitment, and marriage, but no scientist can define what love means, love is part of our personality.

In life, most women will look for a potential mate that has big shoulders and looks like they can take charge. According to evolutionary anthropology, a male is suppose to offer his potential mate looks, braveness, large body structure, being strong, confident, and to be a protector. A women offers a wide hip, looks, and peace, it shows the male that she is healthy to produce his children. The males are supposed to go into the wilderness and bring back food for the family, and to protect them for any potential dangers. While the women are to stay at home and cook for the family when the male returns. Now in days, most women will pick a football player because they are strong are to a women that means they can be a protector.

When teens are going through puberty, they need to face that horrible testosterone and estrogen when turning into an adult. Dopamine, Serotonin, and nurepinephrine are all example of when we get a good feeling with a person. The feeling is something you don’t want to let go of. When a person is just touched by a love one, the dopamine kicks in the hormones causing you to want more than that touch. Those examples are in drugs, so when a drug addict smokes it, they have the good feeling. When a person gets that great feeling, it is like there is no tomorrow, and no one wants to let go of it.

The day you are born is the day we start to learn about love. At a young age until you are in high school, your parents have been training you, if you knew it or not. Love is the feeling you have for another person. Most people will fall in love, get married, and have a family. The day we say I do to marry a person is the day you are committed to do whatever for your potential mate. You are willing to do everything with them no matter what, and to trust them. Love is a feeling you have for a person, not a chemical.

Chemicals are in everything and everywhere, when we are sad, happy, mad, it is all chemicals. Love is a non chemical; it is the feeling of wanting to be with a certain person for the rest of your lives. Chemicals are in everything, and love is a commitment to someone you love, even though you can see it under a microscope, love is always in the air.

Marriages
From a young age, you have been counting on your parents to feed you, to take care of you, and etc. When it comes to your parents helping you or picking who you are going to marry, might be the worst thing a child should go through. So in that case, I am against traditional marriages and agreeing with modern love marriages, because who wants their parents to pick their potential mate for maybe their rest of their life.

In many places, people allow their parents to pick their potential mate because they believe that their parents can pick a great person. Most of the time, this is good because the parents are older and wiser than their child and they know what type of person their kid would like. When they arrange the marriage, you might not like them at first site, but in time, the love between the two would be there. When you were growing up, your parents probably know what you like, what you don’t like, they are your parents, they are going to be one of those people that know you the best. When your parents choose your potential mate, you don’t need to go through those tough break ups if it doesn’t work out. There are many great ups to having a traditional marriage when having your parents choose.

In most places like the U.S.A, people find love on their own at many places. For example, at the store, while shopping or anywhere can be where they can meet their true love. Someone can’t be happy unless they are truly in love with their spouse and they know that they are the right person for them. Most people and I are against traditional marriages, and we believe that people should have the freedom to choose their own spouse. Some parents will make a horrible choice when picking a spouse for their kid. When you pick someone, you are attracted to them, because you were able to get to know them over time.

Modern love marriages are the right way for two people to get to know each other and get married. Modern love marriages are probably the right way to go when getting married. You are able to look for an attracted person and get to find out if they have a lot in common. When you have your parents arrange your marriage, they might pick someone that you never seen or meet before. Also, if parents choose your potential mate, you might not like that person at all and you have to stick with them, unless you get a divorce. Some parents can be selfish and have you marry someone rich so they can inherit some of the money. You might have a personality where you don’t like your parents at all and when they pick your wife or husband, that might be bad. Some parents might not know what their child and they might pick someone wrong for their kid. Everyone should have the right to pick their own mate.

When I’m getting married, I’m going to go with a modern love marriage, not a traditional one because I’m able to pick my own true love. If you want to get to know someone on your own, then you are going to be able to meet new people and get to know many. When having a parent choose who they think is a right person for you, can go wrong, so that is why I’m willing to have a modern love marriage
